“God doesn’t give you the people you want.
He gives you the people you need, to help you,
to hurt you, to leave you, to love you,
and to make you the person you were meant to be”
Today I came across this quote while searching my computer for an article I had started to write but hadn’t finished. I could not find that file in the end, but I found this and it made me think. It made me think about my life and the choices that I have made and did not make. This is not an article about how hard my life was. Pain is relative. There is no scale that says what level of suffering is considered more horrible than the next. What one person might consider a crippling setback, another might consider it to be merely a stumbling block, a pebble on the road to be kicked aside.
As a Spiritual Coach I have sometimes encountered people that assume that I must have all the answers. Couple it with the fact that I am a Tarot Reader and it doubles the assumption for some that I am a fountain of universal wisdom and have a direct line to God. I do not have a direct line to God!
What I do have is knowledge, lessons, pain, pleasure, memories and everything else we gather in our lives as we move along on our journey. The difference for me is that I consciously decided to make an effort to learn and grow. At one time I had that bubble of safety too. I had that box that I was afraid to climb out of. Fear is the glue that holds you down and locks your soul. You have two choices in life: See fear as a wall stopping you or see it as a trampoline. Either fear holds you back or you jump on it and leap off.
Do you want to know what the most powerful word in the English language is?
“BUT I can’t do it”
“BUT I have physical pain”
“BUT I don’t know how to”
“BUT I don’t know anyone”
“BUT he/she might say no”
What if you just said that you can EVEN if you don’t believe it YET?
What if you tried different healing modalities for that pain?
What if you learned?
What if you just said “hi, my name is ___” (Now you know someone)
What if he/she said YES!!
Your life is happening now. Living in the past is not really living. Use your experiences as fuel to empower yourself and your actions in life. Go forward! Learn, grow and maybe even use that knowledge to help others.

What do you do when your partner wants a life change, but you are not ready or willing for it to happen. How do you cope with the change? Continue reading for helpful suggestions.
You have decided to take a new path in life. Your soul has been calling out for change and you find yourself needing to make that change now. You are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for you, but your excitement and anticipation of the future does not make your life partner happy. What are you to do? How do you handle all the negativity that may start coming your way?
Anger and negativity are often based in fear. For a life partner who is watching their other half go through big changes it can be a scary thing for them. For some people, the growth they are witnessing can trigger their own fears and insecurities. They may start to think things like “What if my partner changes so much they don’t want to be with me anymore?” or “Am I supposed to do this too? Are they telling me that there is something wrong with me?”
Rest assured that in most cases these types of thoughts could not be further from the truth. Just because you are a couple, doesn’t mean that you have to do everything that they are doing. Your partner loves you as you are, and is simply looking for you to be there with them, as the support that you have always been. You may stumble across an area of study that interests you too, but it’s okay if you don’t.
What is important to remember for both parties is to have a plan. Studying a topic that interests you can be fascinating and enthralling, but where are you going with it? What are you goals? What would you like to do with the information you acquire? Having a plan and keeping the lines of communication open and clear will help alleviate any fears your partner has, especially if you decide that your new life direction requires a career change. Risk doesn’t have to equal financial ruin if you plan and prepare for that change.
We have all heard the surreal stories of survival about a person or persons rescued from circumstances they should not have lived through. A car for example, pried open with the “Jaws of Life” like a giant tin can to rescue a soul trapped inside, and sometimes in those cars there is a child, still strapped into their car seat, untouched and unharmed. The words “miracle” and “divine intervention” are usually said around these incidents, but what does that mean? Who or what saved them?
I want to say to you dear readers, that I write articles like this to share with others what I have discovered in my life and what I believe. I am not pushing my views onto others or telling anyone to believe what I do.
I believe that while we are in this physical form on Earth, we have guides that are here to assist us, to comfort us and be with us. In general we have to ask for help and be open to receive, but they are always there for us when we need them. These guides are a mix of those whom we have loved who have passed, and other spiritual beings we do not know in our life as a human.
Some call them Angels, Guardians or Guides. It is generally a belief that exists around the world under various names and titles. Their purpose is to assist us when we ask for help, and be there for us even when we don’t. My view is that we are souls on a mission, inhabiting a body we choose, for a goal we have predetermined before we are born into our human form. That all those we interact with, all those whom we consider friends and family are all souls that have made a pact to learn and grow together. Sometimes each soul has a mission, and sometimes it is one soul that has a task and the others are merely support and guidance.
To call upon your Guide all you need to do is ask. Ask for help or guidance, and a direction to go in. Take the path that works best for you and your life whether it is through religious prayer, meditation, a walk in nature, music, art, body movement or any other means. Connect with yourself, your guides and the universal energy around you. Take the time to watch for signs that will mean something to you. Winged creatures are messengers between the spirit world and Earth. Watch for birds, insects like a ladybug, a flower or even a song that has a meaning to you. If it seems strange, sudden or makes you pause, it is most likely a sign for you. Lastly, please know that your guides come from a place of love and acceptance. You do not have to fear them or any signs that are brought to you. Your true souls calling waits for you when you are ready.
