I joined BzzAgent this year and I have been enjoying it, so I thought it was about time that I started to add product reviews to my website. BzzAgent is a free program that you sign up for. In return for trying new products, you are obligated to give reviews of your experiences using that product. It's actually really easy to do and I have had the privilege of trying some great products that I would not normally have purchased.
If you want to be a BzzAgent, you can use the link below to take you to the site. I don't get anything for it btw, so you can go there directly if you want as well.
What most people don't know about me is that I love makeup and beauty products. I have always enjoyed playing with makeup and trying new things. I think my hair is a good indicator of that as it is always changing colour! Blame it on being a Gemini I guess!
So I agreed to try a sample size of the Olay® Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Aging Moisturizer. I thought "well why not" I don't buy Olay at all, but I know the name of course. I am sure many of us have memories of a relative using an 'Oil of Olay" product.
At first I wasn't sure about this moisturizer. It makes a lot of claims:
While beauty is more than skin deep, it’s natural to want to look your best. So fight the seven signs of aging with Olay® Total Effects 7 in One Anti-Aging Moisturizer. With it’s vitamin-rich formula, Olay® Total Effects:
For me it wasn't the best choice. I found out after there is a fragrance free version (not an option I was given) so maybe that would have been different but on my sensitive skin unfortunately this product burned a little. I tried it several times at different times of the day and it was better but it still irritated my skin in some way. I will say that I did see some improvement in brightness and skin tone, but I wasn't in love with it enough to keep using it as I was worried about having a further negative skin reaction. I did not experience any of the other signs of improvement and I did not look 10 years younger!
The texture and consistency of this moisturizer was decent, for a normal skin type it would probably be okay. I have dry skin so I did not find it always enough moisturizing for me, as I prefer a thicker product. It did spread well and absorbed quickly.
As I mentioned there was a fragrance in the version I was given. It is not very strong and it is pleasant enough (sort of a fresh floral smell) but it's there, so that is something to consider as well.
Overall, I would say for someone with non sensitive skin with a normal skin type this could be a good moisturizer for them.
